Artwork Requirements

Providing print-ready artwork helps ensure the highest quality results and the fastest production times.

Accepted File Types

Preferred formats include:

  • PDF

  • AI

  • EPS

  • SVG

  • PSD

  • TIFF

  • High-resolution JPG or PNG

Whenever possible, vector artwork is preferred for logos, text, and line art.

Resolution

Raster images should generally be 150–300 DPI at final print size.

For very large-format applications viewed from a greater distance, lower effective resolution may be acceptable. Low-resolution images may appear blurry, pixelated, or distorted when enlarged.

Whenever possible, submit artwork at final size or clearly indicate the scale used.

Color Mode

For the most accurate print results, artwork should be supplied in CMYK whenever possible.

RGB files will be converted during production, and some colors may shift because certain RGB colors cannot be reproduced exactly in print.

If your project requires specific brand or Pantone® color matching, please note those requirements when placing your order.

Fonts

Please outline or embed all fonts before uploading your artwork to prevent font substitution or unexpected changes.

Bleed & Safe Area

When applicable:

  • Include 0.125" to 0.25" bleed for smaller printed pieces.

  • Large-format products may require larger bleed areas as indicated on the product page.

  • Keep important text, logos, and design elements inside the recommended safe area.

Product-specific artwork templates and specifications should always take priority when provided.

Linked Images & Assets

Embed all linked images, graphics, and other external assets before submitting your artwork.

Missing links may result in incomplete or incorrect output and can delay production.

Transparency & Effects

Flatten transparency where appropriate and review effects such as shadows, gradients, blends, and overprints before submitting your file.

Complex effects may reproduce differently when processed for large-format printing.

Cut Paths & Special Finishing

If your product requires contour cutting, routing, white ink, specialty finishing, or another production-specific feature, artwork may require properly prepared cut paths, spot colors, or production layers.

Follow any artwork specifications provided on the individual product page. If you are unsure how to prepare your file, contact us before placing your order.

Artwork Size & Proportions

Artwork should match the dimensions and proportions of the product being ordered.

Pixelwerx is not responsible for cropping, distortion, or unexpected layout changes caused by artwork submitted at incorrect dimensions or proportions.

Image Quality

Please review your artwork at the intended print size before submitting it.

Pixelwerx cannot add detail that is not present in the original file. Enlarging a low-resolution image does not improve its underlying image quality.

Proofing

Some products ordered through the Pixelwerx Shop may include an online digital proof as part of the ordering process.

If an online digital proof is provided, the customer is responsible for reviewing the artwork carefully before approval. Approval of the online digital proof is considered final approval for production, and no additional proof will be provided unless specifically arranged with Pixelwerx.

Customers should review all spelling, layout, dimensions, colors, images, content, positioning, and other design elements before approving the proof.

Once the proof has been approved, any requested changes may result in additional design, setup, production, or reprint charges. Pixelwerx is not responsible for errors or issues in the finished product that were present in an approved proof.

For products that do not include a proof, the submitted artwork will be used for production as provided.

File Review

Our prepress team reviews submitted files for basic production compatibility and will contact you if adjustments are required.

File review does not replace customer proofreading and does not guarantee that every design, spelling, image-quality, sizing, or content issue will be identified before production.
